At Fichte, Endl & Elmer Eyecare, you have access to several forms of laser vision correction. If you are over 18 years of age and have not had a significant change in your prescription in the past year, you may be a candidate!
Astigmatism is a very common condition, and our precision lasers used for LASIK surgery can be programmed to reshape the cornea and eliminate vision problems caused by astigmatism, eliminating vision problems caused by astigmatism. Generally, an astigmatism that does not exceed 5.0 diopters can be fully corrected through LASIK. More severe astigmatism may also be treatable with laser eye surgery.
For the right candidates, LASIK surgery can provide an excellent way to reverse the effects of farsightedness (myopia) and nearsightedness restoring a patient’s vision.

Dr. Endl is a partner at Fichte, Endl & Elmer Eyecare. He is also head of ophthalmology at Niagara Falls Memorial Medical Center in Niagara Falls, NY and is the Medical Director of the Ambulatory Surgery Center of Western New York in Amherst. He is an FDA clinical trial investigator and has presented peer-reviewed papers at the American Academy of Ophthalmology and the American Society of Cataract and Refractive Surgeons (ASCRS) annually since 2001.
Request a LASIK EvaluationDr. Elmer became a Partner in Fichte, Endl & Elmer Eyecare in 2006, and President of the Ambulatory Surgery Center of Niagara in 2015. He received a double major in Biology and Psychology from the University of Notre Dame and earned his M.D. degree back home at the University at Buffalo School of Medicine. Following an internship at Ochsner Medical Foundation in New Orleans, he joined a prestigious residency program at Louisiana State University, where he was elected Chief Resident in Ophthalmology. He has also gone on numerous medical missions in Africa, performing a wide variety of complex eye surgeries. Dr. Elmer’s extensive experience and training in refractive procedures allows us to offer many eye care services to our patients.
