If you suffer from dry eye syndrome, lacrimal plugs, also called “punctal” plugs, may provide relief. During this treatment, your eye care professional inserts tiny plugs into your tear ducts at the corners of your eyes near your nose. Most patients cannot feel these silicone- or collagen-made plugs. This treatment is considered temporary, but in severe cases, permanent plugs are an option.
